The grains industry has designed and built a database that gathers information from grain (and mixed) farmers about their farming practices.
Differently to most other data gatheirng excercises, it then produces analysis reports for the farm which are returned to the farmer using email. And it is FREE !
The project’s use of electronic media is aimed at minimising costs and increasing the ability of amalgamating information in as short a time frame as possible.
Today’s farming practices have established linkages with productivity and environmental effects, about which there is an increasing need to measure and report.
Amalgamating the data at shire, region, state or national levels allows analyses and reports on environmental indicators, and the drivers of profit and productivity. Such reports include:
- Environmental: soil management and erosion risk, water use and potential for runoff or drainage, nutrient use and balances, energy and carbon management, vegetation and riparian zone management, integrated pest management practices.
- Productivity: yield, fertiliser use and nutrient use efficiency, water use efficiency, pesticide use profile, time of sowing, fallow use, stubble management, precision agriculture usage, and many more.
Download the data form and enter your farming practices details. It is PDF that should open using Adobe Reader or similar. Just type directly in the fields on the form, then Click the email button at the end when you have finished, and that's all you have to do.
We have tried to keep it as simple as possible, because we know that you don't really want to fill out another form.
However, it is important, because the industry doesn't have this data.
There is a "how to fill in the Data form" file available here
If you have any difficulty in opening or downloading the form, email us and we will send you a data form.
